A family from Hamilton County, Indiana have come forward anonymously to claim the Mega Millions lottery prize worth a monumental $536 million.
The winners were on their way out of town to a sporting event with their two young children, when they decided to purchase five quick pick tickets at a Speedway gas station, yet it wasn’t till a few days later that they remembered to scratch the tickets they’d previously bought. The numbers matched up! The family couldn’t believe their luck, they checked online over and over again where their prize was confirmed. The winning numbers for the 8th of July drawing were: 8, 19, 20, 55, 77 and Mega Ball 5, alongside a Megaplier of 2.
They claimed their prize through a limited liability company created by them in order to withhold their identities, opting for a lump-sum of $378 million, reduced to $271 million following all state and federal taxes. At the lottery press conference, the family were represented by Lauren Littlefield, Director of Client Services for Willow Marketing who is close to the family and has said that they are lovely people. They have no immediate plans for the future, apart from looking after their children and carrying on with their jobs.
