Pedro Carbajal has been playing the lottery for quite some time, so stopping off at a gas station for tickets was nothing unusual, however the $750,000 win was definitely unexpected! Carbajal purchased two Mystery Crossword Scratchers for $10 each on his way home, one for himself and the other for his wife. It was his wife's ticket that turned out to be the winner, although he was unsure of the exact prize amount till he got the ticket scanned officially. The ticket was purchased at Shell gas station, which is located at 7512 Alondra Boulevard in Los Angeles County. The couple realized they must have won a significant amount when the clerk exclaimed "Whoa, there's a lot of numbers there". They claimed their prize at the California Lottery's Santa Fe Springs District office, and at this time say their only plan for the money is to use it for their kids' college tuition!
