Powerball Lottery:
13 nurses from the Redlands area of the San Bernardino County are very pleased with themselves after pooling in their money together in the massive Powerball drawing, to win a $638,146 prize between them. They each pitched in $10 to purchase a total of 65 tickets, matching up five of the six numbers: 4, 8, 19, 27 and 34, missing only the Powerball number which would have landed them a piece of the $1.586 billion jackpot.
Janelle Mejia was the organizer of the lottery pool, she intended to purchase the tickets at a different store initially, however she forgot and ended up at the 7-Eleven on her way to work. A co-worker texted her to check if they’d won anything, Mejia checked on her phone to realise they were winners and had hit 5 of the lucky numbers! She called everyone, those at work, off work, everyone was very excited at the news.
They plan on spending the money on vacations, family members and investing it, alongside this they would like to host a party for 150 of their co-workers who did not win!
