Maryland Man Wins $50,000 After Friend Saves Lottery Ticket!

A father, 67 from Maryland is ecstatic having found out that he has won the top prize of $50,000 with the Maryland Lottery after almost not realising. The man, who has protected his identity explained how he’s developed a routine, where he travels down Belair Road and buys tickets for games for which top prizes haven’t yet been won – in hope that he will be the one to get that top prize money. This time, he stopped off at Nikki’s Discount Liquors which is located in Baltimore and opted to buy a “Gold” scratch-off ticket, before going on to check it and conclude that it wasn’t worth anything. Yet, he couldn’t have been any more wrong he found out – he was at work, employed as a heavy equipment mechanic when he handed his ticket to his co-worker who enters losing tickets into second-chance drawings. Upon entering the ticket into the system, he found out the $5 investment had brought him in the top $50,000 lottery prize.

Michael and Virginia Owens from Tonganoxie in Kansas have finally received a big break with their habit of playing the lottery after finding out their paper-jammed Kansas Lottery ticket was worth $22,000. Craig Skwarczynski and his wife Kendra, from Huntington Beach in Orange County are ecstatic following their win of $5,000,000 with the California Lottery – although the wife’s excitement was subdued, it was there for sure. It was the husband that originally purchased two lottery tickets, including a $20 Hit It Big Scratchers from Surf City Liquor which is located at 20972 Brookhurst Street in Huntington beach before heading home and splitting them with his wife. As it turns out, his wife had the winning ticket which was worth $5M – however upon realising the win, she remained very calm and gave the ticket to her husband so he could double-check she read it correctly. Funnily enough, it was Craig that turned on the waterworks and started crying as soon as he saw the numbers, overwhelmed with emotion.

He said that he heard someone had won in his town however he didn't even think of the possibility that it could be him. It was around five weeks later, when he finally took the ticket off the fridge to check the numbers and found that he'd matched up all of them which were: 34, 28, 22, 42 and 45 after having a look at the online results.

Tayeb Souami, a 55-year-old accountant from New Jersey was smiling ear to ear after finding out he was the sole winner of a $315.3 million jackpot with Powerball. Souami, told the story of how he was going to do some work, but was distracted by the fact that his car was so dirty, and it was best to go to the car-wash first. On the journey, he spotted a seven-eleven store – which inspired him to check the ticket’s he’d bought earlier using the machine, the first ticket was not a winner, but the second ticket said that it must be seen by a retailer to confirm it’s worth. Bringing it to the clerk, the clerk said “Oh my god, oh my god” over and over again as he saw the amount on the screen. The winning ticket was originally purchased from ShopRite, which is located at South River Street in Hackensack and matched the numbers: 3, 6, 9, 17, and 56 as well as the Powerball number 25.
