Terry McClelland, and his wife who are from Statesville, in North Carolina have won a $250,000 lottery prize and have already made plans of fulfilling their life-long dream by using this lottery money in order to donate it to a non-profit organization. McClelland, who is an army veteran stopped off at a Speedway, which is located on the Turnersburg Highway in Statesville when he decided to purchase a Diamond Dazzler ticket, and would you believe it, he beat the odds of 1 in 1.2 million to land the $250,000 prize. “When I scratched that ticket, I couldn’t believe it,” he said at the lottery headquarters. After realizing that he was a winner, following a discussion with his wife, who is also called Terry – they decided that they could finally fulfil his wife’s dream of starting a counselling centre, with the purpose of freeing people from various addictions. 

Marco Amador, 39, from San Diego County has just won a huge prize of $750,000 with the California Lottery so it’s no surprise that he’s super excited and optimistic following the win! Amador, usually plays draw games such as Powerball and Mega Millions – however his friend recently convinced him to try his hand at scratch-off games, so following his friend’s advice he went into Stater Bros, which is located at 1048 North El Camino Real in Encinitas and purchased a $10 Mystery Crossword Scratchers. Working as the manager of an auto detail shop, he was coincidentally at his work place when he decided to scratch off the ticket he had bought – and came to realize that one of the puzzles on the ticket in fact matched up 10 complete words, which is the exact number he needed to win the top prize the game offers of $750,000! 

Kevin Smith, from Los Angeles did not feel like cooking, so he decided to stop off at Food 4 Less which is located at 1651 East street on 103 ^rd street in Los Angeles. Smith, needed some dinner for him and grandfather – so after having a good look around, he opted for a fast food establishment, which was Burger King and after being crowned the King – in high spirits he went on to purchase his Crossword Deluxe ticket at the nearby store. With no time to waste, Smith scratched off his California Lottery ticket before he had even left the parking lot – and started realizing that quite a few words were matching up on his ticket. Lucky for him, indeed one of the three puzzles of the Crossword ticket revealed 10 words – which is the exact amount needed to win the top prize in the game, which is worth $2,000,000! 

Linda, from Colorado was definitely not expecting to find out that she’d won the lottery after going through her losing tickets, that she was hoping to enter in for the second-chance draw. Linda, purchased her lottery ticket back in July, from a Safeway store in Firestone – the ticket was a $50 Series game – The Golden Jubilee. She went on to scratch the ticket later on, however nothing stood out to her that made her believe that the ticket was a winner – therefore, following her usual routine the ticket went into the growing pile of losing tickets that she hoped she’d win a Second-chance prize on. In a very coincidental turn of events, Michelle Shuffler from Granite Falls has won two lottery prizes in one day, one worth $10,000 and the other worth $1,000,000. This is the second time, that someone has won the lottery twice in one day in the past three weeks! Shuffler, purchased her first ticket at the Cubbard Express which is located at Beecher Anderson Road in Lenoir after stopping off there with her husband. She explained that she, and her husband don’t usually play the lottery, however at the last minute her husband made an impulse buy with a ticket after finding some spare cash on him. Now, after feeling that fate was on their side, they went on to purchase another scratch-off ticket from the Murphy Express, which is located on Hickory Boulevard in Granite falls which is around 22 miles away from the first ticket location and found that this second ticket was worth 100 times more.

Kevin Hayek, from Kansas almost lost his $50,000 lottery ticket before finally managing to locate it in the trash can! Hayek, plays Powerball very regularly but admits he often doesn’t check his tickets, last Wednesday he stopped off at a convenience store whilst getting his daily coffee. He stopped off at Kwik Shop 789, which is located at 746 NE Wabash Avenue in Topeka and finally felt the urge to check his tickets from the drawing on October 18^th, when scanning the ticket using the machine, he suddenly saw a very long claim form coming out which was handed to him by the clerk. Hayek went off to work as usual, and it wasn’t until he started reading through the form with a co-worker he realized he was missing the item he needed to claim his prize: the winning ticket itself! “When I realized I didn’t have the ticket, I hopped back into the truck and went back to the store. The clerk had accidently thrown it away with the non-winning ticket,” he exclaimed. 

Kimberly Morris, from North Carolina has beat the lottery odds after happening to win the lottery twice in one day! Morris, first purchased ticket from her local Harris Teeter store in Wake Forest, the ticket was a Diamond Dazzler scratch-off ticket which has a top prize of $4,000,000 available. Upon scratching the ticket, Morris came to realise that this particular ticket was worth $10,000 in prize money, and happily went on to collect her prize at the North Carolina lottery headquarters which were located in Raleigh. Following this, the win did not stop Morris in trying her luck with scratchers tickets as she went on to buy another Diamond Dazzler ticket, this time she realized her didn't just win another $10,000, but a whole $1,000,000 prize! Morris, has opted to receive her prize as a lump sum of $600,000, which will be worth $417,012 after tax and government withholdings over the gradual instalments of $50,000 to receive the full $1,000,000 amount.
