British Columbia Lottery Makes Lifelong Friends Millionaires

How would it feel to check your lottery ticket while on a break at work and discover you have won not thousands of dollars, not even a million dollars, but $2 million? If you said it would feel great, you would find that Susan Hook and Martha McCallum agree with you. The two women have maintained a friendship for more than 50 years and recently became millionaires thanks to a BC/49 lottery ticket they purchased together. As McCallum explained, she was on her coffee break when she checked the ticket. Her first reaction was to question why the number had “all the zeros.” Of course, she told her friend about the win that changed their lives.

Two friends Split a Million!

Two friends Split a Million!

You might have a difficult time convincing these two Michigan friends to adopt the attitude many people have about buying lottery tickets. You see, some individuals give up completely and don’t buy tickets because they believe the odds of winning are just not that good. Sometimes it seems frustration is the only result when playing the lottery. Two friends in Michigan proved this wrong, at least for them. They made the decision to share the cost of a lottery ticket, hoping it would improve their chances of winning. As it turns out, they were correct. Dillan Dybilas, 20, who is from Ubly, and Robert Sopsich, 30, from Hartland, bought a $20 Millionaire Maker ticket together, deciding they would split the amount they won.

Grandfather Gifts $25,000 A Year for Life Prize to Granddaughter

Peter Beckage, 85, has shown true selflessness after donating his winnings to his granddaughter following a $25,000 a year for life prize. Beckage, purchased his North Carolina Lottery ticket from Carlton’s Hampton Road Grocery which is located in Clemmons after enjoying a Palm Sunday breakfast of pancakes with his grand-daughter Kelly Thomas, who is 22 years old. He recently moved in with his daughter to be close with the family and regularly plays the lottery game. The following evening, he stayed awake to watch the drawing, and saw that he got all five numbers– which he couldn’t believe and found it impossible to go back to sleep for obvious reasons. Beckage explained that he’s decided to give the money to his grand-daughter who will soon begin studying at UNC-Wilmington because he says he’s always known that if he ever did win that he would share it and therefore he is very happy to be able to give this gift to her.

Franco, was kind enough to spend a significant portion of his time with reporters to go through all the details of the event. It all started at the end of March, when Franco was leaving work and decided to pop in to Speedway to purchase $10 worth of lottery tickets and even put all his eggs in one basket by buying only Powerball with all of them. The reason he bought lottery tickets in the first place was because he said that he just really felt lucky that day, so lucky that when buying the tickets, he winked at the camera in the store. The Speedway store is located in the Milwaukee suburb in New Berlin, a small city of around 40,000 people. What’s funny is, despite feeling very lucky that day, Franco did not check his tickets the night of the drawing, and went to work without checking...

He says that this big win is down to his father, who’d headed down to the shop for bread and milk, to discover the shop had neither so he purchased 3 lottery tickets instead, one for himself, his wife and his son.
